Comprehensive integration with the rest of the world
Road traffic: Tan Thanh District where most of industrial zones of the province is located is next to Cai Mep – Thi Vai International Terminal Cluster, about 30km away from Long Thanh International Airport and approximately 62km from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Since the establishment of the new expressway, travel duration from Ho Chi Minh City to Tan Thanh District has been shortened to less than an hour.
Waterway: Cai Mep - Thi Vai International Terminal Cluster has extended the province's capability to directly connect to other Asia Pacific and European countries.
The province ranks the third in Asia for oil and gas exploitation. More than 93% of oil reserve and 16% of natural gas reserve of Vietnam are located in offshore continental shell of Ba Ria – Vung Tau. . Natural gas is used to generate power, fertilizer, LPG and supply natural gas to local industrial zones.
The natural 14-meter-deep river system has formed the only international container terminal cluster in Vietnam, which can accomodates vessels up to 200,000 DWT. Ports along Cai Mep – Thi Vai River are utilized by local heavy industries and presently developed into Asia’s biggest transshipment port.
